Space Farms Zoo & Museum, New Jersey
Space Farms Zoo & Museum is the Largest Zoo & museum in New Jersey. Located in Sussex New Jersey, Space Farms Zoo & Museum make an excellent choice for any size group that is planning a bus charter day trip.
With every animal from bob-cats to yaks, Space Farms Zoo is home to over 500 animals, representing 100 species from all parts of the world and is a record breaking zoo as well. The worlds largest bear, Goliath lived here for over 25 years. Space Farms Zoo is also involved in the conservation and restoration of several different threatened species such as the South Korean Elk and Hokkaido Bears.
The Space Farms Museum is spread across eleven buildings which showcase countless numbers of items representing American History. More than 50 antique cars and motorcycles are on display, along with carriages and wagons which traveled the country during the 1800's. There is a Children's toy museum and rare doll collection that spans over hundreds of years. Miniatures on display include a realistic hand-made train set and unique miniature circus.
During you're day at Space Farms make sure you check out the wildlife demonstrations provided throughout the park, if you're lucky you can watch the lions and crocodiles feed. If you get hungry during the day, there is a family restaurant on site as well as a souvenir shop. For the kids, the Animal Nursery is a petting zoo that gets the kids up and personal with the barn yard animals.
