Indianapolis Zoo, Indianapolis Indiana
The Indianapolis Zoo is located in White River State Park Indiana and was opened in 1964. Perfect for any group that is looking for an interesting bus charter day trip, the Indianapolis Zoo is home to animals, reptiles, birds, fish and much more.
The zoo's inhabitants live in what are called biome's. A biome is basically a man made environment that matches as closely as possible the real world conditions of its inhabitants. The Forests Biome houses creatures from the worlds forests, such as huge Kodiak bears and rare Siberian tigers.
The Waters Biome represents fish and mammals from a wide range of areas of the world. On display in recreations of their natural habitat are polar bears, seals, sea lions and penguins. The Dolphin Pavillion has daily shows featuring the star performers, the dolphins. The Plains Biome recreates an African plain, complete with grazing zebras, eland, giraffes, storks, baboons, wild dogs and of course lions. The Australian Plains exhibit features red kangaroos and emus.
Shows are held through the day which show how the zoo's staff interact with the animals; watch as the Elephants are fed and bathed, or be surprised by the Feature Creature which spotlights a different animal every day.
There is a gift shop located in the park and food, snacks and beverages are available throughout.
The Indianapolis Zoo is wheelchair accessible, wheelchair rental is available upon request. Baby strollers are allowed in the park, and can be rented also.
If you have a group, discounts are offered to groups of more than 25. A catering menu is available for weddings, events and birthday parties.
