San Diego Zoo, California
When traveling by bus charter to San Diego California, the whole family or group will love a stop at the Sand Diego Zoo. The San Diego Zoo just turned 90 years old and is marking it with special events all throughout the 2006 season.
There are dozens of exhibits representing animals from all over the globe at the Sand Diego Zoo. A double decker bus tour will take you on a ride covering most of the park if you're feeling a little lazy. And if you want a birds eye view of the park, hop on the Skyfari Aerial Tram which takes you over the treetops from one end of the zoo to the other.
One of the most popular exhibits at the Sand Diego Zoo is "Absolutely Apes". Orangatans and siamang apes live side by side in a natural environment just as in the wild. The apes swing and vocalize to the delight and amazement of visitors.
Tiger River lets visitors walk alongside a river bed with landscaping designed to recreate the look, feel and odor of a natural rain forest environment. Endangered Malaysian Tigers make their home at Tiger River as do storks, pigeons and fresh-water crocodiles.
The children's zoo is for kids of all ages as well as adults to enjoy. There are over 30 exhibits designed to capture the imagination of the little ones. There is a petting zoo and a nursery where baby animals are cared for and on display. Bugtown is the home of insects and invertebrates in a mini habitat. Each display allows visitors a unique view of how insects live amongst us.
The San Diego Zoo is a great learning experience as well as a great day trip for a family or group bus charter. Groups of 15 or more should call (619) 718-3000 for details and reservations. School groups call (619) 557-3962 or visit http://www.sandiegozoo.org/education for more details.
