San Francisco's Haight Ashbury
We have so many different options when it comes to chartering one of our vehicles for a trip to San Francisco's Haight Ashbury. Famous for the intersection of Haight & Ashbury streets, the "Summer of Love," and hippies, Haight Street, between Stanyan and Buena Vista Park, now includes vestiges of the 60's along with an interesting collection of cafes, unique shops, vintage clothing stores, chain stores, nightclubs and colorful residents.
Some of the most famous landmarks in this neighborhood include former homes of several counterculture icons including the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin and Jefferson Airplane.
Northeast of the Haight, at the Hayes and Steiner Streets lies Alamo Square across from which lies a string of beautiful and colorful victorian homes. These are refereed to by locals as "painted ladies" and have been so often photographed that the view has become known as "postcard row".
