A great place to bring the whole class for a day of intellectual intrigue would be the Bronx museum of the Arts. All the students will be amazed by all of the breath taking artwork that your class can relate to in an easy to understand matter. They have many different exhibitions for your class to check out. To start off they have the AIM 25 exhibition where artists use portraits to address political and social issues. On Wednesday the museum takes a creative twist on their art. They combine many different types of art forms such as art, combining various art forms such as music, performance, and film. Thus creating a hip-hop vibe for the community to enjoy in an easy to understand manner. They host many family programs. One is called Families First and the other is called Family Affair. They both provide many hands on workshops every Saturday from 1:00-3:00 PM. These workshops are available for anyone at any age to participate in.
The Bronx Museum of the Arts is an inexpensive way for your class to see the arts. Admission: $3 for Students and seniors, $5 for adults, Free for members and Children under 12, and free on Wednesdays. The museum is open Thursday through Sunday 12:00-6:00PM and Wednesday 12:00-9:00PM. Just remember when you plan your trip to take it on a charter bus.
